Description
The earthy and peppery flavour has hints of anise, mint and camphor and provides Mediterranean dishes with their character. Thyme blends very well with onion, wine and beer. The intensely spicy, ethereal scent with a hint of pine needles is reminiscent of the Mediterranean. The hint of mint rounds off the fresh flavour of thyme.
Tips & Preparation:
- Many French, Spanish, Mexican and Latin American dishes would not be the same without thyme. It is often used for pâtés, terrines, soups, tomato-based sauces and marinades, pork and venison.
Tip:
- Add the spice at the very beginning of the cooking process when preparing stews and roasts. Can also be enjoyed as a tea - just add a heaping teaspoon of thyme to 250 ml of boiling water and leave to brew for up to 10 minutes!
