Description
Compote, punch, mulled wine and Christmas teas are inconceivable without the intense fruity, spicy, peppery flavor of cloves. Cloves are also used in numerous delicious creations that are little known to us. In addition, cloves are an important part of the five-spice powder and the aromatic Indian spice mixture garam masala.
Cloves are very aromatic and have an intense spicy fragrance. The taste is fruity and spicy with hints of pepper and a resinous, fresh finish.
Tips & Preparation
Cloves spice venison, lamb, fatty fish and dishes with smoked or cured meat. A typical addition to soup or rice dishes is an onion studded with cloves.
